Lost In Your Reflection

about

Lost In Your Reflection is taken from the E.P The Autumn Waltz. It was written during my mad spree of song writing in 2008. In total during that year I wrote 14 songs. This song, of all my songs holds the most special part in my heart....

For one it was my first solo song that was recorded. I had always played in a band prior to recording this song so I was very nervous, but I knew I had the goods with this song. I recorded it during the Spring of 2011 with my friends Kent, Scott and Jen.

The influence, without question is Neil Young's Expecting To Fly. It's ethereal without being too dainty. I actually tried practicing this song with the Runaway Catholics but we we're in the midst of recording our album. I'm glad we never got around to recording it cause this version is the perfect version.

It's a song of lost love but has hope underneath. A constant staple when I play live.

lyrics

"Tried to be wise and in love without blame.
Negativity grew and w/ it the games.
Stuck w/ these answers i needed to move.
Dawn ignited a passionate swoon.

I look into your eyes, then you turn away.

I laid in the sunken, sullen fresh snow.
Decembers first wish is that you would go.
You asked for a solace, i did not obey.
Weak in the heart, as my knees gave away.

I look into your eyes, then you turn away.

Lost in your reflection i needed more time.
The love i thought was yours, i knew it wasn't mine."
